- 台灣菸酒公司TTL在2008年於南投中興新村 的南投酒廠 設立了蒸餾廠，而且購買蘇格蘭的乾燥大麥芽來釀造威士忌，而且可以從麥芽粉碎、糖化、發酵、蒸餾、木桶熟成一貫作業。
- 位於南投市貓羅溪畔，建於62年5月，佔地14甲，75年開放觀光，以盛葡萄酒聞名全台，收購全台盛產之水果，釀製各種水果酒，提供遊客品嚐及購買各種酒類，頗具觀光產業旅遊價值及獲消費者好評，每年三月的第四個禮拜六更被定為南投酒廠水果酒節，並擴大舉辦敦親睦鄰活動有園遊會、產品品嚐、推廣、民俗表演等節目以帶動南投市產業觀光。是臺灣菸酒股份有限公司唯一生產水果酒的廠區。
- 酒廠大門最引人注目是一座很像酒桶的品酒屋了，屋高約二層樓，也因它的特殊造型，已成為南投酒廠的標幟了。廠內另設簡報室、各種水果藝術雕塑、造景藝術的庭園，所以品酒之餘，還可觀賞附近的山色。
- 廠內目前生產的產品有十餘種，如葡萄酒、白蘭地、蘭姆酒、威士忌、梅酒等高級酒類，其中多項產品獲得世界菸酒評鑑會獎項，品質更受到國際愛酒人士的肯定。

- 尾韻：悠長，是一種甜而不膩的輕雪莉威士忌，一絲絲的硫味最後轉成煙燻
